Gateway City Church exists to love God, love People and Love Life. The church is filled with different types of people, both young and old, who have discovered life and are attempting to live it to the ‘full’ through Jesus. Many grow up believing God to be dreary, depressed or weak. Rather He is vibrant, joyful and powerful. His presence is real and exciting and can be enjoyed by anyone.

Our Services are filled with God's presence. They are alive and attempt to be real about our journey with God. There are no ‘superheroes’ within our church only normal people learning how to be devoted followers of Christ. Jesus said that He came to earth that we might have a life of abundance (John 10:10). We believe that Church is a time of Celebration and not religious activities. We stand united in our vision to Equip and empower the church to go into their world and change the culture for the Kingdom of God.

OUR SENIOR PASTORS

Pastor Scott and Rachael have both grown up in the Illawarra area and met each

other when they were both attending Corrimal Baptist Church. Scott became a

Christian when he was 17 and at the age of 19 commenced 2 years of study at

Hillsong College. Upon finishing he was invited to be the Youth Pastor for this

church. Scott has served as the National Youth Pastor for the Apostolic Church.

He founded Youth Ablaze, a national youth movement, and initiated Liberty,

one of the largest youth conferences in Australia.

Scott has also been involved in itinerant ministry and planted a church at

Brighton-Le-Sands. He has preached extensively in Australia as well as

overseas. He has conducted successful evangelistic meetings in India.

In August 2001 Scott was invited to be the Senior Pastor of the church and in 2011

celebrated 10 years of his leadership. Scott has pioneered a number of large scale

community initiatives in Wollongong including the hugely successful RISE UP,

which saw over 5000 Christians from all walks of life gather to pray for the City of Wollongong.
